there was arabic shop next to my brothers ex shop, i always see this young mum with a lil daughter who speaks arabic with them, she is too light skinned so i never though she was somali until one day while i was there as a mujaamala to welcome his new zaboun the arabman said to me yaa suhail speak with her somali she is new refugee then when i talked to her she said shoo/what? i said to her arent you somali? she said yeah but im bajuni i speak sawahili. It was the first time i heard this race in 2010 and i went to the water stone bookshop checking where is bajuni island located from somalia. And your arabic darija have you been to an arab land? she said no some of my family speak arabic we are a mix of malaay and oman.
We had new somali nighbours who were forced out to leave arabia and they knew nothing af somali except the mum and there were this reer xamar family. As i was curious i lately asked my brother which reer xamar they were and said an ashraaf. As we head only bilaajo carab who had both somali and yemeni nationalities speak arabic as new comers but this family never been to any arabic speaking land and their kids were chatting with this new family in an arabic kinda arabic darija. One of this family daughters become my arabic teacher in a al islah run school at macmacaanka called al tadaamun she and egyptian teachers
