Is gold necessary? I thought it was voluntary. It still does not exist in baadiyo. Whatever that does not exist in baadiyo is not somali dhaqan. I will pass dahab.

6g's on gold? upfront? Ridiculous! If the b***h wants gold why can't she go out & buy her own?! Why must we have weddings anyway. Must we waste so much money on one night just for ppl to celebrate our love. Weddings are mad corny & all that attention put on you is just embarrassing. It's better just to get the paperwork & skip all that nonsense. Aww but an out door wedding with the birds & squirrels & nature would be soo nice

the thing is, for my experience, not the mahr is the problem. the problem is housing, expensive furniture and gifts. marka hore wa laku so hero ghalini, fatima bint rasoul asw maher was 4000 darham, bla bla. then buuump they ask expensive furniture with professional decorator to hire, etc. and now i heard from my womenfolks the diamond is the fashion. so she wants diamond wedding ring! before you know, costs over $50 000!

Why bother? Just get her a chair and an apple, I mean thats what these reverts are doing to obtain xalimos.I am thinking about starting ayuuto/hagbad with punch of Single Friends so that each of us can get married when he takes the Ayuuto. It will be about $500 a month and we are 15 guys for 30 months . We need $15000 for each person. We can have one guy get married every 2 months. That would be like 30/12= 2 1/2 yrs. It isn't that bad. Within 2 1/2 yrs, All of us would be married. Each of us can cash his own wedding with the $15000. deposit for the appartment,furniture, aroos, gabaati etc.
Sounds like a good plan wallaahi. Anyone of you want to join us? The creteria for joining is, You must have a job, be single guy and bring Someone that is going to assure you in case you run bankrupt or refused to pay. If you die or become totally unresponsive, you are forgiven. If you become handicapped but still gets money from the state, you pay.

how come no one is not mentioning the honeymoon, it should be included in the wedding budget?
If one of the couple is rich enough to solely cover the cost that is something but since two people are marrying each other each should at least contribute 50-50.
