From what I got from the two blog posts is a long tirade on appearance. Either the shaykhs don't have big enough beards, turbans, and Khamiiso, or the great menace of segregation is not being implemented.

Well let me tell you something, this is American, scratch that Western Islam. 99999.99999% of the time you are in some proximity with the opposite sex, whether it be school, work, or just in the streets. This is the simple reality we live in, which in some countries it may not be prevalent because of those cultural norms. The real test of ones Islam is how they reacts with the opposite sex when they are in proximity. These people who hearken back into an age of gender segregation have lost that war long before they knew there was one.
As for the garb, that is a matter of culture. You do not measure someones learning, status by the size of their beards.

There is no such thing as segregation of the sexes in Islam. It is 100% cultural it occurs amongst Arabs {especially those from the Gulf, Iraq, Yemen etc/}, Pakistanis, Indian Muslims{called Purdah} , Afghanistan, Iran etc...and these societies have the highest incidences of bacha bazi and homosexuality in the whole world. This stupid law destroyed Saudi Arabia, the country is full of raging pederasts, homosexuality is more common than heterosexuality amongst both men and women, in places like schools, universities etc. Saudi researchers have found that 25%-50 % of school kids are gay in Saudi Arabia.
