Bio of Imam Hutuking01
HIs Holiness Imam Hutuking01 was born to Aw-Jamac Askar & Mama Habibo Yusuf in the small town of Adhicaade on June 26, 1979. His birth was a miraculous one that his parents named him Ismail for they had waited for their first son for so many years. At age 6, Haji Aw Jamac sent his son, Ismail to the famous dugsi of Qadriyah Sufi Sheik Ilkodahab of Dhusamareb. Young Ismail found it hard to living among his southern kin who often referred to him as Qaldanki & Caade. He found solace in studying the Quran and Sunnah and excelled becoming a Xafidullah at age 12. He became famous on among inhabitants of Galgaduud and was sought after to perform religious services. Life in Dhusamareb was harsh and young Ismail saw many of his fellow youth leave town for the lush green Konfuria. Soon, he too left Dhusamareb for the mysterious fabled town of Merka. He had been recruited to provide religious guidance to Yusuf Siyaad who had been an enterprising commander of the USC yet was a troubled man. He did not trust the local imams who feared and despised him. Yusuf was told of this young Imam from Dhusamareb who had worked miracles and so sent for him.
As the years passed, Imam Ismail took on the nick name Imam Hutuking due to his fervent fusion of Hawiyecentric Islam. When Boqolsoon called for the Hawiye to leave the secularist USC, it was Imam Hutuking01 who made a rebuttal khutbah warning that the fight against Godless Marxism was not only one of haq but one against Aethiesm. When Xasan Dahir Aweys called for the Hawiye to leave Caydiid and fight him under the banner of "Islam", it was ImamHutuKing01 who asked "Why Xasan Dahir Aweys was making Kutbahs from Kismayo among the very same Marxists ?" His efforts did not go unnoticed and soon became a personal spiritual adviser for Hussein Caydiid.
Years passed and Imam Hutuking01 became troubled at the state of the country. At the Carta conference, Imam Hutuking01 was courted by Cabdiqassim Salat Hassan to help lobby the Majlis to support an Ikhwan. Imam Hutuking01 soon fled under the influence of the Ikhwan and abandoned the Qaddriyah deciding to cast his lot with the Ikhwan. After Cabdiqassim Salat Hassan won the Carta election, Imam Hutuking01 was sent to Riyadh as a "Cultural and Religious Attache"at the Somali Embassy. Imam Hutuking01 studied with the Wahabi scholars and soon was kicked out of the Kingdom for asking too many questions about the tenants of Abdulwahabism. Angry at the Saudis, and Cabdiqassim, Imam Hutuking01 made a blistering kutbah at the Cabdallah iyo Cawarere mosque in Wardhiigley denouncing Cabdiqassim Salat, the Saudis and the Ikhwan. He warned the masses of Mogadishu that the rising influence of the Wahabis would spell an untold disaster on the city and called for them to wage resistance against them. Imam HutuKing01 was then warmly received by his nephew Hussein Caydiid who called Imam Hutuking01 not only a great uncle but the face of true Islam.
His prophecy came to pass when Cabdiqassim Salat and his inner circle funded and supported the Islamic Courts. Imam Hutuking01 was visited by a group of menacing UIC fighters lead by Xasan Dahir Aweys and asked if he wanted to join the war against the "Ashada La diirirka". Not being a fool, Imam Hutuking01 nodded because he knew rejecting Xasan Dahir Awey's tahliil would have meant instant death. Deep in his heart, he knew he was wrong but he could do more good if he survived the Wahabis.
Case File: Rightwing aka Le Justicier aka Sheik LAFOLAFO aka Aden Burcawi
Rightwing was born in Burco in 1974 to a family of merchants. At the age of 10, he left for Mogadishu to visit his uncle who was a Director General in the Ministry of Agriculture. Rightwing was amazed at the wonderous Mogadishu, a place filled with sights and sounds that he would have never seen in Burco. The thing that struck Rightwing the most was the ocean. This landlocked geeljire had never seen the ocean and was amazed at the Laag that stretched for as far as the eye could see. What was this wondrous body of water and could not resist rushing into the ocean. The salt water burned his eyes yet his first experience swimming in the warm waters in Xamar weyne would always stay with him. When the school holidy was over, Rightwing refused to head back to Burco. He had gotten used to the comfortable life in Xamar. A place were the food was great and exotic where the diet was not limited to meat & milk but included fruits and vegetables. The people were friendly and treated each other like one great family; referring to each other as kin: Abowe, Abayo, Eedo, Adeer, Abti, Habaryar and not like in Burco where calling an old man adeer would result in being cussed out. Nope, he was not going back !
As the years passed, Rightwing became involved with the Mogadishu underworld. He spent his weekends shaking down the Italian tourists at the various clubs in town. On Thursdays, he was at the Uruba Discotheque where he and his crew would pick pocket drunk Italian tourists. Soon, he moved on to the qad trade after discovering the Wanlweynians did not know much about this leaf and saw a large untapped market. He soon set a racket to smuggle khat from his 4th generation Sijue relatives in Isiolo and used his uncle who was the Governor of the Gedo region to get the goods in. When the antiQad campaign took off, Rightwing saw his business quadruple as his competitors got shut down. He became an incredibly wealth merchant whose clientele included the whose who of society. Rightwing was living the good life, well until the summer of 1988. In an infamous incident, Rightwing saw several of his friends got killed in the Jaziira massacres and was tipped by one of his best clients that he was a wanted man. Using his wealth, Rightwing fled Somalia to Kenya where he got his cousin a Consular officer at the Somali Embassy to make him a passport and soon fled for London.
Bio of Abdiwahab Ahmed Ali Aka Abdi Beendiid aka Abdi Bililiqo
Little factual information is know about Abdiwahab. Some say he is the Somali Renaissance Man. Others say he is a Machiavellian Mooryaan. What is known that Abdiwahab came from humble beginnings, the son of rural shopkeepers. As a youth, he dreamed of living his dusty tuulo and moving to the city. Abdi was born as a rebel. He was the only child to be expelled for dugsi for asking the wrong questions which baffled the wadaads. The daily beatings did not change him but only made him more determined to leave the shidhole of a village where the water was bitter, the wind kicked up dust that would blind you by age 40 and the constant daily struggle. At age 12, his older cousin sent for him and he moved to Mogadishu where he worked as a shopkeeper. He was born with a strong entrepreneurial sense and could always figure out ways to make money in any situation. Abdiwahab's world was turned upside down when his mentor passed away and a distraught Abdiwahab found out that he was about to be sent home. Ever the hustler, Abdiwahab got a job as an administrative staff working on the Conoco field operations in Afgoye where Cisman Caato was their local contractor.
Caato became like a father to Abdiwahab and soon, Abdiwahab was learning not only how to operate a business successfully but also politics and making favorable deals. Abdiwahab quickly picked English and so impressed the American Engineers who bought him ESL books and tapes for him. The young lad began to receive a series of promotions and was transferred to the Conoco operations in Northern Somalia just shortly before the start of the civil war. The time in the North changed the happy go lucky man and made him angry at the injustices afflicted on his fellow country men. It was just after a year that Conoco was forced to quit its operations due to insecurity and Abdiwahab made his way back to Xamar.
The circumstances of his time during the civil war are relatively unclear. Some say he was the founding father of the USC, Caydiid's Press Secretary and his successor if he was not traveling overseas when the Usurper Hussein Caydiid declared himself leader. Others say he was a peacemaker, who helped end the 4 month war after forming a strong political lobby group which threatened both Caydiid's and Mahdi's powerbase. The two made peace not out of genuine like for each other but to avoid the formation of a third faction that could possibly oust the two men. Others swear that he was the brains behind Operation CaanoBoore which delivered many innocents from the chaos of Xamar to Kilinka 5aad and say they owe their lives to him.
Abdiwahab seemed to have fallen off the political radar until 2006 when he returned to Xamar at the invitation of his friend, Abdishukri Jinja, but did not realize that this character was the behind the formation of the Alliance For the Restoration of Peace and Reconciliation. Abdiwahab saw that there was going to be a conflict and so worked hard to help form peace between the APTRC and the UIC. His shuttle diplomacy almost worked if Bush and Osama did not spoil the talks which were almost about to bear the fruits of peace.
So who is this enigma ? An odeey who is comfortable among sheikhs, warlords, derbijiifs, politicians, dhalinyaro and waayeel. Is he a peacemaker or a lord of war ? It all depends if you are an optimist or pessimist. What is certain is that Abdiwahab is one of the most interesting, unheard of odeeyaal of the past two decades.
Dr. Yalaxow aka Jeyte Fiidow aka Mr. Black
Prior to the war, Dr. Yalaxow as a rising star in the Somali football league. He was a substitute Goalkeeper for the Somali Ports soccer team. Back then, he was referred to simply as Yalaxow, his grandpa's name but got the honorary title after an incredible match that made him a legend. Dr. Yalaxow sat out most of the games until one his team's goalkeeper got badly injured. The 18 year old goalkeeper stepped on the pitch looking nervous but soon stepped up to form. He blocked 6 shots on the goal and saved the Ports team from losing. Yalaxow impressed his coach so much that he was no longer the substitute goalkeeper. His repeated successes on the field earned him a cult like following and Yalaxow became to Somali footballl as what Maradona was to Italian football: a LEGEND. Maradona had his "Hand of God" and Yalaxow had his signature "Bundodiid" denying the opposing team scores. His mastery as a goalkeeper earned him the honorific title "Datoore"
Sadly, Yalaxow's promising career came to an abrupt end due to the collapse of the central government. Dr. Yalaxow left Xamar weeks after the start of the savage four month war and fled to Djibouti and later on to Sweden. Dr. Yalaxow fell in love with this wonderous country. A land of plenty with beautiful Nuralcayns whose complexion was like that of milk and their golden sun like hair. God must love these people for he has given them plenty while cursed us savage Somalis, he thought. For what else could explain this "Nus Jaano". Yalaxow began his lifelong struggle with questions of faith as he began to wonder why if the Muslims were the chose ones why did they live in such hellish conditions while the Kaafir who were going to hell live in heaven on earth.
Cupid struck Yalaxow when he met this Swedish Nuralcayn called Inga. She was the Swedish language teacher at this resettlement camp. Inga exposed Dr. Yalaxow to many things that he was denied in his repressive society. He learned to party without fear or shame. Dr. Yalaxow went on tourist trips with Inga all over Scandanavia and learned to ice fish, listen to Aaba and Ace of Base and all in all how to live like a Swede. Yalaxow never felt better and was on top of his world until one day, his adeer arrived from Somalia with a message from his parents.
Dr. Yalaxow welcomed his uncle to his small one bedroom apartment and asked Inga to stay away for a few days when his uncle was in town. The two were cohabiting and Inga found it strange that she had to move out and why Dr. Yalaxow did not introduce her to his friends or relatives. Yalaxow's uncle, Yusuf Bidaar, told him that his father sent his greetings and a stern message. Aabe Yalaxow had learned of Dr. Yalaxow's lifestyle, his cohabitation and Swedish like living and was extremely upset that a son of Culema was practicing heathenism. "Adeer, your Aabe has told me to inform you that you must change your ways, get rid of that Gaalo woman and marry your cousin Batulo."
His heart stopped. Why was his father behaving this way ? What was this primitive thought ! Yalaxow politely nodded and told his uncle he would do it. Yalaxow was many things but always a respectful son. He bid his uncle farewell and wondered how to break it to Inga, the love of his life. There is never a pleasant way of breaking up and so he informed INga that there could be no future between them. Yalaxow left town the following day to the Somali suburb of Rinkeby where his future wife to be, Batulo lived.
Dr. Yalaxow got to know Batulo. At first, it was nerve wracking for Dr. Yalaxow as he forgot courtship, Somali style. He was used to the no nonsense, suurofree shukaansi with the Nuralcayns. Time passed and the two fell in love with each other. Dr. Yalaxow and Batuulo got married. After hunting for a permanent job for sometime, Dr. Yalaxow got a job on the Stockholm bus transit line. His jovial attitude and friendly demeanor earned him many friends among the passengers: Somali and Swedish. His wise words, funny quotes and humor made him a philosopher of sorts, a Socrates on wheels.
