One of my cousins was killed by his abti(maternal uncle) for qabiil reasons.
I heard of brothers(same mother differnt fathers kill each other)
Really we belong to our father's clans not both.
Somalis rarely marry from the same clan any way.
The only viable, simplest solution really is Islam.
I agree with Lacageeylacag 101%. walaahi waa runtiis. aabahaa aa isku qabiil tihiin not habartaa. meeqo abtiyaashood oo qabiil kale ah neceb aa aragnay. waraa jaahilnimada meesha kala taga.

Salaam Qansa.

I agree with everyone who said that it wouldnt make an ounce of difference considering we all have the blood of many tribe's within us, but because tribe is from only the father's side, we see ourselves as his tribe. This is tradition and to change that would be too confusing. Also, the idea of the government deciding who we marry makes me feel very uneasy.

We make so many excuses for why Somalia is in chaos, I would say that it is due to shaqo la'aan caused by povery. Somalia needs more education, jobs, hospitals, police force etc....poverty is sometimes overlooked as the fuel for all this ignorance. It also wouldnt hurt to have revolutionary leaders who denounce tribalism rather than these archaic gents with their old views and hatred.
