I gather that you are also a vivid reader of Agatha C.

I suggest you read; Leopold Senghour, Chinua Achebe, Nuraddiin Farah, Ngugi wa Thiongo,Wole Soyinka and the others.

I am sure you have read Joseph Conrad's in the heart of darkness; the African writers' serious provide a rebuff of Conrad.

:o Lama??? Seriously??? Nurudin? Achebe??? Do u seriously expect ME to read African authors with their simple, unremarkable intellect gathered in a simple scribbles booklets? The very thought itself brings me torturous dread. Its like asking a child who grew up among the barbaric Germanic ancient Vikings and then--she got adopted by the elegant, erudite Roman senators and grew up among highly advanced intellect, taste, class and ingenuity and then--to be asked to go back to the barbaric village and read a book written by a third grade brain barbarian, talking about life in the village among tofu and fufu or in Nurudins case beast-iality or the tales of schizophrenic elders nolstaging on abrupt, unrecorded oral history of much ado about nothing. :x

LOL. I never thought you are this bankrupt intellectually speaking! Did you read them? You potray all the symptoms of a Eurocentric victim. Did you know that Voltaire owned a slave ship?

I am disappointed.

P.s. Nuradin's best book is the "Naked Needle" and mark my words, he will get the Nobel Prize.

Winning a "Nobel Prize" is NO mark of a good literature work. I mean, Toni Morisson received a Nobel for her disgusting, bizarre novel called Beloved. The subject tale of this book is incest, devilish practices, negroid rawness etc etc etc. Toni got one, why cant a Somali Nuradin get one. In fact, let him have a Nobel for every crappy book he wrote. These books are chosen purely for affirmative action purposes. White people don't read these books, they just skim a few pages, remark the word 'interesting', to appear cultured and inclusive, and then violently shut the book and really rub their hands and go read those books that actually make sense and is to their intellect par. :stylin:

Basra, it is true that Nobel Prizes are not a marker of good literature; Winston Churchill receieved it. It is also marred by political correctness (e.g. Obama who I admire) got it. But, that does not negate the sophistication of literary work by Africans.

Toni Morisson is a good writer by the way.

Is your yardstick for good literature, the number of white people who read it?

I was expecting more nuanced arguments and not this nonsense from you, woman

Lama@lol :stylin:

Woman? LOL Calm down. LOL Exactly right, Churchill wrote a book, that obese megalomaniac imperialist. Morrison is NOT a good writer. UUUFF

"Is your yardstick for good literature, the number of white people who read it? "

Hhmmm YES AND NO. Not ALL white. LOL Lots of white trash stuff out there. I am more inclined to authors who are hyper, hyper, hyper white educated . :stylin: I am talking PHD in OXFORD, HARVARD, CAMBRIDGE, etc etc etc

I tend to relate to them, don't mean that I want to be them. Maybe I am already corrupted. Maybe my brain has reached a point of NO RETURN. Africans tend to focus on humanistic, basic retarded subjects that make me uncomfortable. They are more connected to evolution than myself, therefore, I cannot pretend I get them or support them just because we share the same continent of origin. :)
