Why would anyone write from a clan perspective?
Visit the Politics section - you will find your answer there
it doesn't answer why...
Because most times that is the only perspective when it comes to Somali news. 2 clans fight - first question is what qabiil were they and what qabiil was the murderer. There's a Somali lesbian, what qabiil is she. Some hotel gets built - what qabiil are the owners. Etc etc. Why? I don't know - I guess it's how we make sense of things, make connections, stereotypes, share the glory, pass on the blame.

You're right, thats the only way Somalis can make sense of their surroundings but qabiil itself is an illogical belief based on a purportedly shared lineage. So to use something illogical as a tool to understand current events, politics etc. is for me inconceivable.

Zero impact from my part. One has to become disconnected from one's self and render their intellect null to be able to write things from a qabil perspective. Can't do not.

No impact whatsoever only because I'm more of a qabyaalist in person than online.
