Prov, If you are not joking then you are delusionalNot really. Those militias have embarked on ways to narrow the gap. At one point, they won't be at a disadvantage technologically/militarily. We don't know what they're doing or can do to adapt, and this topic is trying to explore that.I assume you are joking!!

Superstition.I dnt know if it is true but I heard from Muslim circles that Ethiopia was blessed by Prophet Mohamed and will never be conquered by another country.

Taliban and other Islamic movements fight their own governments and people who cooperate with the enemy. When they realise they are supposed to be fighting 'for' the somalis not against them.

Didn't Ahmed Gurey conquer Ethiopia, at least for a number of years?I dnt know if it is true but I heard from Muslim circles that Ethiopia was blessed by Prophet Mohamed and will never be conquered by another country.

How can an Abbysinian invade his own country?misterioso, wasn't Ahmed from Abbysinia too? I said outside forces.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahmad_ibn_Ibrihim_al-GhaziAhmad ibn Ibrahim al-Ghazi (Somali: Axmad bin Ibrahim al-Ghazi, Arabic: أحمد بن إبراهيم الغازي ) "the Conqueror" (c. 1507 – February 21, 1543) was an Imam and General of Adal who invaded Ethiopia and defeated several Ethiopian emperors. With the help of an army mainly composed of Somalis, Imam Ahmad (nicknamed Gurey in Somali and Gragn in Amharic (ግራኝ Graññ), both meaning "the left-handed"), embarked on a conquest which brought three-quarters of Ethiopia under the power of the Muslim Sultanate of Adal during the Ethiopian-Adal War from 1529-43.

elf, you can do some research on this man: Aṣḥama ibn Abjar - Abyssinian Christian king who finally embraced Islam. One theory says Prophet Mohamed SAW performed Salatul Janaza for him. That was the first time this Salat was performed for someone who died in a faraway place. Another theory says one of the early Muslims who emigrated from Arabia to Abyssinia embraced Christianity and his wife left him. Then this king represented the Prophet and paid a lot of gold to her family when the Prophet married her. I dnt know how authentic this is but I heard it through word of mouth.

Of course, you've your own personal view, that he was Ethiopian. However, millions (including Ethiopians, Somalis) do not share your view.misterioso, Ahmed Gurey was not a foreign invader, at least to to my knowledge.
