Interesting article. The neighborhoods Somalis have businesses appear to be similar to African American neighborhoods which are neglected and less-serviced by mainstream economic industries, police, etc. I can see the parallels.

she mentioned that the somalis who own the shops in those aids/poverty infested slums are cowards and hire a poor vulnerable somali who the folks he had left behind is depending on him to send them money and he has no option but to take those jobs... and usually they are the ones killed by the local xoolos (this i must say i've always known) :(

also why do i get the sense that she is trynna justify the unjustifiable, there a lot of countries in the world facing the same wealth inequality disparity between the poor and the wealthy that south african is facing currently, but i dont hear foreingers killed inhumanely in those countries.. the difference between these xoolo and them is that they work very hard to lift themselves out of poverty whether be through education, etc.
