Random acts of kindness..

Postby barbarossa » Mon Jul 29, 2013 4:40 am

In honor of this blessed month of Ramadan, please, lets share any recent random acts of kindness that you may have recieved or given to others.

I will go first and share with you one such incident which though, at first glance, may seem not that big of a deal but which, in actual fact, has gone long way in restoring my faith in the nobility of human heart.

This one happenned couple of months back when I was in Mogadishu for a visit. As I came out of Marwaaz Masjid in Hamarweyne district, I have noticed that, during the Makhrib prayers, my shoes were "missppropriated" hopefully by someone who stood far more in need of them than I. Nothing shocking there, for I have long been warned that such incidents were somewhat common in masjids throughout the land. As I stood there, in the threshold of the masjid, barefooted, contemplating my next move, and as worshippers streamed out and heading home, many expressing some words of sympathy for my little inconvenience, a young local man with a little son has approached me and offered to get me flip-floppers or dacas, I said brother it is okay, I just live few blocks from here and I am going to get a pair myself from nearest open shop. He insisted that I stayed put and asked me, a total stranger, to watch his kid as he went to get me a pair of dacas . Few minutes later, the brother came back with a pair of brandnew dacas which I have put on right away, thanking him profusely for his kind gesture. I offered the brother 5 dollars to defray the cost of the dacas but he said that the dacas was on him and would not accept any money. I heartedly thanked him again as we parted. May Allah reward this fellow and others like him for their kindness, Ameen.

While I was driving, a pigeon was crossing the road. As I was approaching, it sensed the car and tried to cross fast. I slowed down as I didn't want to force it fly. It finally crossed, looking back at me gratefully.

Moral of the story:

Hawiyes steal dacas from Masjids
Hawiyes give their children away

Ok, I got a tough question for you.

There are 3 people drowning. One being a Swedish Atheist, one a Yahuudi and the other an Iidoor. You have the option to save 2 , who would you choose?

My car overheated and died the other day. A random guy helped me and my friends push the car into a parking spot :D  He just saw us struggling and pulled over. That restored my faith in humanity.

True. A similar thing happened to me I ran ot of gas in front of stoplight  there was a baldheaded tattooed guy behind me he stepped ou of his car and asked what the problem was. I felt embarassed and told him I ran out of gas. Luckily the gas station was less than a km away he offered to tow me and also pay for gas.
