Somalinet, ruining lives one user at a time

Postby mcali » Wed Jul 31, 2013 6:23 pm

The amount of time we've been on here is insane.

I swear every time someone makes a farewell post I chuckle. Its only a matter of time before they return to this pit.

Thoughts about snet through the years

1 Year-----"This is cool.A Somalia community online!"
2 Year-----"Did they just insult my qabiil"
3 Year----"Let me make another account"
4 Year----"Man this is getting really boring"
5 Year-----"I need to quite this shit"
6 Year -----"*%%@
7-15 Years----"More pills...MORE!!!!

I've made threads about quitting somalinet and why its so hard and these are the type of comments I would get

"Its just the web man, log off" :?

"You are over dramatic"

"You are addicted to a website, Get a Life"

Funny thing is those users would typically be in the 7-15 year veteran range. They no longer have a life. Its not about simply posting on this site or logging on. The most addictive part of snet is just typing this site in the url to see what other people are saying.

I would have loved to known some of you guys in the outside world but enough is enough. Im tired

I'll be making one more "beneficial thread and thats it.
My Next thread shall be called "PMO FREE"

I sort of agree with you but then again i've accepted that i'll probably be here a very long time until the site crashes down and my life routine doesn't complement any time for it. Until then, just here for laughs, political updates, discussions (a lot of my friends are incredibly boring/trivial/tedious in their social affairs) etc.

I think you're giving SNet way too much power. If you want to stop coming online then just stop. If there are people you want to keep in touch with you could exchange emails.

For me it's more like....

Year 1: It's alright.
Year 2: If only I could delete my account.

mcali, it is high time aad daacad u noqodid balwadaada. No need to constantly nag about it; when you are hooked, you are hooked.
Like it or not, this demon called Snet, is now part of our daily life and we should all embrace it as such. We shall be addicted to it probably for the balance of our existence here on earth or at least until such a time as one of our own suddenly strikes it filthily rich and eventually gets so bored with the excess of his dough that he turns into recreational philanthropist. He will then establish a rehabilitation center dedicated exclusively for the victims of Snet junkies. we shall then undergo through a rigorous twelve-step program where, with the help of professionals with decades of combined experience in the field of addiction, we are slowly but surely weaned from this socially destructive behavior. Then we shall all be at last set free and once again enjoy normal social life .
