how old are you??Anyway, going back to the thread. The Masonic "blood sacrifice theme" is not the real issue. I know the boy's father was a member. The overarching theme that the case brought to light is that African American people are still not considered citizens of the United States even after the civil rights movement and the success of a 'few privileged AAs which give a mere illusion of inclusion into dominant society'.
My relatives studied in the U.S. They were the few Somali people attending university in the U.S during the late 70s. They were a small tight-knit group that stuck together, they didn't really associate with AAs. However, trust me that was the first experience of racism they had in their life. In the deep south Cadaan people don't care if you have sharp features or straight/wavy hair, to them you are maddow; as they lived under the "Jim Crow era mentality" a very narrow minded bunch. Anyway, they were only slightly nicer to African students compared to other blacks. Done so, in an effort to not deter bright minds from other countries from studying there.
In parts of the US there are certain well to do neighbourhoods (all-white) that are sundown towns, meaning they follow the principle that if you are dark pigmented (not caadan) and out after sun down then you could be killed, normally they would be asked to leave after that time. Travyon Martin's case just brought this phenomenon to light.
Although I was born in the U.S that does not make me American I identify as a Somali instead, as these people were here for 10-20 generations and are still second class citizens.
