Will the Russians do anything?

The media and world governments should stop looking at Russia as a realistic threat. It's annoying. The U.S.S.R left us 22 years ago. They are useless. What is wrong with Obama? He always has to mention Russia. He doesn't know how to handle the Russians. Obama doesn't realize he is the President of the world's only superpower. You are not suppose to have a multilateral approach when you are the United States. You do, and they follow. Sometimes I am left in confusion when Russia flexes it's muscles and the United States feels the need to respond with concern.

The US has had worst presidents than Obama. The funny thing is, vast majority of Americans do not want to be involved in any further wars. Obama was against the Iraq War in 2002 and he's definitely not sending ground troops anywhere. An airstrike isn't gonna do much in this conflict.

Bush was pretty bad. He messed up 4% unemployment and a budget surplus. Iraq alone messed everything up.

Americans need to understand their opinions don't matter when you are the world's only superpower. You have to go into war once in a while to show the world who is boss. The world has to fear you or your superpower status is in jeopardy. Not Iraq or Afghanistan type of wars but military interventions like in Libya are perfect. The Americans need to intervene in Syria for their own good. It is their duty but I am on Bashar al-Assad's side.

Russia matters, a lot. The whole reason they are supporting him so much is because of all the important pipeline projects that either exist or will in Syria. Russia needs these deals with Iraqi Kurdistan, Syria, Iran and the Caucasus to not be fucked with so they can keep their grip around Europe's balls.

Lol America has had superpower status for over 60 years now and every conflict it engaged in has ranged from stalemates to unmitigated disasters. History is not about having the best army, it's about winning.

No. Past experience (Iraq, Libya, etc) indicates Russia will do nothing. For their part, America will do nothing in Russia's adventures (Chechnya, Georgia, Dagestan, etc).

But how does the US know Assad used chemical weapons? The Russians have many people in Syria and within the government. The rebels probably used these weapons to get this desired outcome.

But how does the US know Assad used chemical weapons? The Russians have many people in Syria and within the government. The rebels probably used these weapons to get this desired outcome.

Whoever is behind the chemical attack, they're clever. They know Assad wouldn't use heavy mortars and artillery in the capital to prevent infrastructure damage. Chemical weapons are ideal for urban environments. They know he's all but won this war and so in a last ditch effort to prevent rebel annihilation they've provided an excuse, albeit dubious, for "intervention".
