Costcutter is the biggest joke there ever was!

Postby Cherine » Thu Aug 29, 2013 10:36 am

They should seriously change the name to COSTRAISER everything that I pick up is more expensive than the equivalent in Tesco or Sainsburys. I always dread going there and only do so in emergencies. Plus I hate how they always ask 'Do you need a bag?' I mean for goodness sake do they expect me to walk out of there with a milk bottle dangling from my arms?

Hindidan wax ka tightsan maan arag, gaalada ma weeydiyaan, calatoul ayeey bac siiyaan while laughing from ear to ear. They act as if they paid the earth to get those bags...how much do those plastic bags cost anyway? any dukaan leh in Snet?

Lots of differentshops in my area run by somalis, Arabs and cadaan. The only ones who charge for a bag are the asians e.g. pakis, Bengalis and hindis. They worship money it seems. Plus their stuff is always 10-20p more expensive. A loaf of bread which has a best before date that is already gone is more expensive in their shop than in a somali shop which still has a week left. I've switched my custom over to mainly somalis now and Arabs for other stuff.

^ I'd love to have a Somali grocer! Only Somali stores around here are laxam xalaal shops or typical clothing stores.

Wholesale 100 blue plastic bags £2:99. as a rule i never ever use asia run shops due to health reasons. they switch sale by date product to new bags.
if you go waitross closing time they throw away a lot of product or sell them half price. fresh baguetts after 20:30 are only 10p.

Halkan the Somali shops wey isku jiraan butcher and grocer.

The other day I went to Costcutter and saw their bananas were more black than yellow. Do they expect to sell them in that condition?

I wanted to ask them if they were going to throw it away, so I could take a bunch to put it in a banana bread (they are the best bananas to use in such cakes) but then I thought naah forget it..these people will sell it to you at full price in all its black and mushy glory.

so each bag is 3 pence? Damn..from the way they act I thought it would be more expensive. One day I bought yogurt and the lady asked me that question, I avoided looking at her face and replied yeah. Maybe next time I should just empty the contents on her face.

BTW supermarkets even hadaad ka chaqeysid, will not let you touch any of the products that are past their 'display by' dates. They would prefer to throw it away than to give to homeless people or give their workers and these products are actually edible and within their use by dates.

It's such a shame that people actually throw them.

Risk management. They don't want to get sued.

Why not buy one of those ASDA reusable bags and take it with you everytime you go to shop.
