If your story is true then i'm not sure that is sufficient grounds for dismissal. You should go back and say that you've had advice from your solicitor and that he cannot fire you because the situation was not sufficient grounds for dismissal as you were acting entirely within self defence and threaten to take him to a tribunal (pull the racial discrimination card if you think its going to work). Then demand that the agressor (the indian who first attacked you) receives a suitable punishment. When you have your job back you may want to consider transferring to another branch.

Do what I did. I retaliated by joining the socialist union society. My parents are a member of unite. But hey they are not going anytime soon cuz ed Miliband is shit. Just a few days ago the unite union has slashed their donations to the labout party from a million quid to 150,000 pounds .
