22 years of neglect happened.
:lawd: Look at the resources they have and they have yearly droughts. Truly Allah gives intelligence to whom he wills.

A drought is an environmental catastrophe, it has nothing to do with how much resources could be available at a given time. America had a drought. Now, if you meant famine, then that would have been a different issue.

Truly, Allah does give intelligence to whom He wills.

Semantical arguments do not help your case and does nothing to deflect from the pathetic situation. You know exactly what I meant.

Casanova, I'm the first to criticise Somaliland's problems. Just admit your mistakes, that's the first stage of fixing a problem. Truly when Allah was handing out intelligence, you guys were absent. :whew:

Beledweyne was one of my favourite city in Somaliya. Maxaa ku dhacay way xaaluftay magaaladii quruxda badnayd!!

Koonfuriya iska daa dagaale xataa magaalooyinkii baa ka qayliyay. Waar bal dalcaddan iyo nasladan eega.

Both pics are recent. The upper one was taken in the rainy season and the lower in the dry season. To be honest Hiiraan's environment would look like Mudud and Galgaduud if the Shabelle river wouldn't be there.

You can't be talking about intelligence when you don't know the difference between a famine and a drought. You come from a place that looks worst than the second picture all year around -that is what I would call a pathetic situation.

Famine schmamine. You seem to have one every year, despite having two major rivers and the entire Indian ocean at your disposal. Your taking things personal now. :comeon:

BTW, how do know where I come from? :lupe:

Why are you talking about drought when the dry fields are on the river bank?
We must look to another altogether different explanation.

Have you heard the expression?..."Too much of a good thing"
It seems to me the farmers close to the river have been over irrigating their fields.

Somali`s still use flood irrigation techniques, They plant the seeds then flood the fields 2,3 or even 4 times.
To the layman this may seem ok, because the river will provide more than enough water.
However, once the soil is saturated and cannot absorb anymore water it will pool on the surface.
High rates of evaporation will crystallize any minerals/salt into the soil.
After many years the soil becomes useless and barren.
