I was laughing at the President of Somalia's quick statement today at Brussel addressing the Somali politicians and media in the press conference. He was like in Somali 'If you guys keep being disunited and keep squabbling the money the Europeans are giving us will go to countries like Syria'.   Oday gacanta aayan uu taagay, every man for himself. Every nation for themselves. When it comes to desperation.

Rightwing, I think Assad should go hard on them before the deadline of chemical weapons destruction in mid next year , by that time he should have at least decimated
60% of their force specifically targeting the radical elements like Islamic State of Iraq and Levant and Al-Nusrah . Damascus , Homs and Daraa should
all be thoroughly liberated , let their only concentration spots be narrowed down to the Northern areas and Turkish border .

Chemical attacks, mass murder, mosque demolition? I'd be crazy to support that.

Are you crazy? Why are you advocating destruction. Both extremist need to drop down their weapons that includes Assad and his oppositions. They are both extreme and enemy of Syria and Islam.

I'm against the rebels and I'm against Assad.

Hargeisaay, read below shid sxb.

Opposition forces battling Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria now number around 100,000 fighters, but after more than two years of fighting they are fragmented into as many as 1,000 bands.

The new study by IHS Jane's, a defence consultancy, estimates there are around 10,000 jihadists - who would include foreign fighters - fighting for powerful factions linked to al-Qaeda..

Another 30,000 to 35,000 are hardline Islamists who share much of the outlook of the jihadists, but are focused purely on the Syrian war rather than a wider international struggle.

There are also at least a further 30,000 moderates belonging to groups that have an Islamic character, meaning only a small minority of the rebels are linked to secular or purely nationalist groups.

The stark assessment, to be published later this week, accords with the view of Western diplomats estimate that less than one third of the opposition forces are "palatable" to Britain, while American envoys put the figure even lower.

Buulohubey- Assad is clearly the better option , if he prevails than at least we know where the country would be heading and most importantly peace
will be retained . but in the night mare scenario of rebels carrying the day than Syria is doomed to Somalization on steroids .

I dont wanna witness the downfall of the last independent Arab nation at the hands of western aligned hoodlums , Syria deserves better .

Great article sxb , its as a thought . now what Assad needs to be doing is turning the heat on the most extremist factions and their foreign mercenaries .
While at the same time running a pr campaign to convince the still very moderate rebels to drop their arms and come back home .

Rightwing and hageysay, why do you make out like ASad is some kind of a benevolent strong man
Him and his father have ruled Syria under Martial Law for the past 48 years Typically, the imposition of martial law accompanies curfews, the suspension of civil law, civil rights, habeas corpus, and the application or extension of military law or military justice to civilians. Civilians defying martial law may be subjected to military tribunal (court-martial).Would you like to live under those condition for the rest of your life
