Both series are tough picks. Angels have a good team too. The only easy pick is the Padres versus the Cards. And even that one isn't as easy as it seems at first, given the schedule, recent injuries and Carpenters recent problems.

I'm picking the Cards too. But it's not as straightforward as the record would indicate. Peavy can throw, and Carpenter is tired. Bullpen injuries will hurt the Cards. It won't be a sweep and could go five.

There's no way the Red Sox are getting past ChiSox eventhough Chicago stumbled through the last part of the season. it's all about pitching and Boston just can't hang...they rely more on scoring. The real question's whether Big Papi gets the AL MVP despite being a DH...it'll be between him and A-Rod. I like Ortiz...

Yesterday was Media Day in the NBA...a lot of changes...Stoudamire signed an extension, Yao signed an extension...Miami reloaded, San Antonio's looking real good, Detroit lost a piston, the Raps are still Crap, Phil is back in LA, Artest is Back in Indiana, EA sports NBA Live vs NBA 2K6...can't wait for the season to start...

Every one is Miami Heat fan these days just like they were Bulls fan back in the 90s... Wink

Speaking of baseball..I don't see the Red Sox repeating and I don't see the Yankees beating the Angels.

ALCS...Angels over the Red Sox

NLCS...Cardinals over the Astros.

Screw, puck drops tomorrow, buddy! Wink

MM,Yanks vs Card in the W.S

BUT! The real deal is this Saturday when Diego "Chico" Corrales fights Juan Luis Castillo in a repeat of their fight of the year performance back in the Spring.

BTW, anyone see "The Ultimate Fighter" last night ?? Evan Tanner, #1 Middleweight contender, got stopped by Canadian David Loiseau due to cuts inflicted by the deadliest elbows in MMA.

The Sox do have a decent rotation. If Schilling can turn it up like he did in the final against the Yankees, then maybe. I am concerned that without Foulke and Schilling not in top form, it is going to be tough. But they have decent defense, the best offense in the game, and solid, if not spectacular, starting pitching. So I would not rule the Sox out yet.

I don't think the Yankees are going to get by the Angels.
