Oldest Bible found refers to Jesus as 'Servant of God'

Postby SultanOrder » Thu Sep 19, 2013 12:50 pm

In the video, a bible that goes allegedly to the "brother" of Jesus Christ (as), James, tells a different view of Jesus that is not inline with modern day Christianity. It says refers to Jesus as "Jesus your Servant, to you belongs the glory forever".

All bibles claim Isa AS was only a prophet and servant. It's only quotes like "I am the way..." that Christians claim suggest divinity.

I think it has more to do with Pauline epistles (never even saw Jesus), St Peter, etc. that create and add on to the Man-God myth. Even though Arriyans and some middle eastern sects rejected this.

Don't the Christians contend that Jesus is the 'son of God'? The servant of God will utterly debunk their central belief in Jesus. Not to mention, the holy ghost, etc etc

Christianity has been screwed up over translation, new or old testament bullshit! :stylin:

I read the oldest copy of the Bible which was roughly translated from ancient Greek and was missing many parts. I searched for any mention of Jesus being divine but found no such verse. Considering that the Bible is edited many times, with parts added, I think it's safe to say that the idea of Jesus being divine was simply added.

Exactly.

Didn't they unearth a secret bible which mentions Prophet Esa predicting the coming of Prophet Muhammed *saw*... I believe it was written in Aramic..
The Vatican was interested in seeing it..
Haven't heard anything from it since.. :|

Interesting, why don't they date it, and see how authentic it is?

And [mention] when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, "O children of Israel, indeed I am the messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad." But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic." Quran 61:6

Bible:

John 16:7-14 "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew [it] unto you."

The title is somewhat off. The Book of James is thought to be the earliest book of the New Testament canon, and to have been written by about 40 AD. The books of the Old Testament are far older. Four of the books of Moses date almost to the time of the exodus, which was about 1440 BC.

The controversy over James is very real. There is another book by a brother of Jesus, the Book of Jude, that seems to speak of a time when Jesus' message was being changed. It's very short. Clerics have tried for centuries to exclude both books from the canon because of the difficulties the brothers present to the virgin birth. The notion that Jesus was the servant and not the son of God is rather newer.

Grant,

I am reading Zealot by Reza Aslan. He claims that Jesus was not of virgin birth, had a brother called James, was a revolutionary who advocated war and liberation and was a freedom fighter.

In order to entertain the legitimacy of this "bible" (assuming Gospel) you'll have to entertain the legitimacy of Isa having a brother.
