I think, the greatest archaeology project humans will undertake is locating the city of Iram which Allah swt mentioned in the Quran as the city which nothing like it was ever built on earth. There have been few attempts to find it, but I hope in my lifetime that I see that place.

The likes of whom had never been created in the land?

Navy it is somewhere in the rub al-khali, but nabi sulayman did say to Allah to give him a kingdom that no man should inherit after him, so after Sulayman (pbuh) died his awesomely powerful kingdom was vanquished as he requested.

He found something by following caravan tracks revealed by satellite photos. He claimed it was Iram, but the evidence is not conclusive and has been extensively challenged. They didn't find any pillars.
