Libya's PM has been kidnapped

Postby Bermooda » Thu Oct 10, 2013 3:07 am

Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zeidan has been kidnapped from a hotel in Tripoli by an armed group and taken to unknown location, the government has said
A former Libyan rebel group said on Thursday it had "arrested" Zeidan after the government allowed the United States to capture top al-Qaeda suspect Abu Anas al-Liby in Tripoli last weekend.

Zeidan was taken by force by gunmen from the Corinthia Hotel in the capital where he resides
Why was his home a 5 star hotel and not a secure government building :?

This is being described as an Islamist response to the kidnapping of al-Libi! Arabman will be sooo proud his warnings have materialized.

This is to demonstrate their strength and reach, and that they can capture high value government officials. Already, the US government is regretting its folly in kidnapping al-Libi. It's only a matter of time before they capture a high value American (or Western) target.

Grant I think it was done by those that wanted something out of the government and used that excuse as an opportunity to extort them 8-)

Americans kidnap a Libyan. So the Libyans kidnap a Libyan. Yeah, brilliant plan.

Maybe they should contract work out to Al-Shabaab, they seem to know what they're doing.
