Who do you think should be printed in the new somali Currency -

Please no tribalism

The denominations would be

5 Shillings, 10 Shillings, 20 Shillings, 50 Shillings, 100 Somali shillings, 500 Shillings and 1000 Shillings ( Of course if you would like to have a new name that's your choice)

My opinion on what should be on the banknotes

5 Shillings-
Obverse= Abdi Bile (1987 he became world champion in the 1500 metres, the first Somali to do so)
Reverse= Fark Din Mosque

10 Shillings-
Obverse= Magool - of Hoyadii Fanka, or "Mother of Artistry."
Reverse= Female basket weavers and Male playing the Oud

20 Shillings -
Obverse= Obverse= Daud Abdulle Hirsi ( Father of the Military and hero) Asli Hassan Abade ( First and ever Female pilot)
Reverse= Laas Gaal

50 Shillings -
Observe= Hadrawi ( songwriter, philosopher, and Somali Poet Laureater - seen as the Somali Shakespear and was awarded the Prince Claus Award for his contributions to peace through his poetry - Poems translated into many languages), Osman Yusuf Kenadid - (Somali poet, writer, teacher and rule) and lastly Nurrudin Farah ( Somali Novelist, professor and awarded 1998 Neustadt International Prize for Literature) - 3 Important Literature figures
Reverse=Somali Nomads and Camels

100 Shillings-

I like that list seems fair and harmonious.

However i think some martyrs should be on the note and greater examples of Somali architecture and geography as well as aspects of Somali Irredentism.

Silly to have people on bank notes.

Have cultural items, wildlife and monuments.

People = qabiil = 4.5 on money :lol:

Blick Velvet not our fault caydiid can never be uttered in public let alone Somali money.......thats 4.5 for you.

Nonetheless i think General Daud is an excellent choice and can act as booster of self esteem for the masses down south.

In terms of Geography I was also thinking about Zeila, Marka Cadey White washed buildings, Citadel of Gondershe, Castles of Qandala, the two rivers, etc...

Blick velvet history don't recognize you, not my fault ? :Shrug:

Back to topic. Your examples perfect choices and definitely need to be included some how. Representative features of Somalia is whats needed. The 2 rivers are somewhat too obvious however.

Marka needs to be included by any means.

True about that, off-course back to the original reply about Somali Matrys, who else is there ? Some may say Siyaad Baare/Aideed but both are quite controversial especially if we ever want a Post-Reconstructed Somalia.

Akhas girls who talk about qabiil are so unattractive. Have some adab.

You're not even in a position to brag about it. Are you forgetting what tribe you are?

Aideed wasn't a suggestion its on the black list for eternity. Insigne has a point, don't forget ever when your conversing with me.
Barre should be left off for political reasons, his status is already ingrained on the Somali mind and imagination. A status no other Somali has.

Another suggestion is that Fakr ad-Din Mosque should replace the current Masjidka Isbaheysiga with Al-Mnara Tower of the Abdulaziz Mosque/ Arba Rucun Mosque/Ithna Asheri Mosque featuring some where on the notes.

arkin & Shanlo Koob Salliga-miiska Fandhaal kal Mooye JugDhiil Dabqaad etc can be under consideration too.

Highlighting the the span of Somali heritage should be of profound importance, most non-Somalis because of the last 20 years actually believe Somalia is a wasteland, even Young Somalis think this actually.

Which is why, you mention her clan at every chance you get? Even though this thread clearly says 'No tribalism' - you couldn't help yourself. You couldn't help the fact that her clan was revolving around your mind which says a lot about her history.
