Will NOT watch it!! They could have picked a more chiseled, younger looking African American actor. This is actor is old, beefy and not attractive. Besides WHO makes slave movies in 2013????? I mean, yeah, the music part of it is interesting but that's it ! Its too bad, I would have wanted to see Leo de Caprio in a period movie. I didn't watch his last one "Tango" uufff disgusting!

But I don't go to movies for powerful quotient. I go to movies to 'escape' and get 'entertained'. Slavery movies is upsetting to the minority--at least the perception of being upset, and very uncomfortable for the white people. Overall, the fact that it makes its audience - uneasy should disqualify any going to watch it. NOTHING in the cinema is interesting nowadays! This is very sad for a movie lover! :x

This film is just attempting to reinforce race stereotypes and will do so shamelessly. In case the new generation of white American kids aren't fully aware of Blacks being inferior to them, this will do the job.

As Basra said; who the hell makes slaves movies in 2013? It's as if they're desperate to rehash and display this image of Blacks beings slaves.

Django was an ego-boost for Black Americans but this new one will balance things out - it has the whips, graphics and narrative to completely bring down their ego to the ground. :?

I have a list of films to watch but I'm looking forward to this film, I think that the actors and director make it worthwhile.

First I heard of this was this morning with an interview with the great great grandson of the protagonist of this story. Apparently it's based on an autobiography. Sounds interesting.

Alpha

I think we have something in common. :D We both fantasize about Fassbender.

I am looking forward to his movie --The Counselor. With actors like Brat Pitt, Javier Bordem, Cameron Diaz and Penelope Cruz---one is bound or guaranteed to have an orgasm out of the movie. (at least-- even though the plot of the movie ends up being bad)
