I need a break

Postby LetsCookBreakfast » Wed Nov 06, 2013 11:50 am

What I would give to wander the deserts of Arabia, the favelas of Rocinha, or the slums of Cape Town. I need a change of scenery, with minimal stress in order to clear my mind. I want to have experiences that the average person doesn't have. I want to create bonds that will last a life time. This life sucks. Living like this sucks. You can't be creative here, they don't like us. They don't like our kind, they despise us. Worrying about bills or material objects is not what I want. I don't want to continue being in this cycle. I need a break. Some time to myself. Not around anyone else, no one else. Just me. Only me.

I need a break too. :(

Went on a roadtrip to Birmingham and Leeds last week, so revitalising.

Too much of the high-life and the hustle & bustle of the streets is wearing me down.

People from South African slums or favelas would trade their lives with yours in a heartbeat. Be careful what you wish for.

What's hell to them is paradise for us, what's paradise is to them is hell for us.

I never said I wanted to live like them. I want to experience how other people live. I find my life too bland. I don't want to do the typical tourist shit either, rather, some adventure through the slum-type shit. Nothing to get excited about over here.

Who are "they"?

The desire to get away from it all is understandable. What I wouldn't give to live in a sanctuary in complete solitude away from people. :wow:
Maybe try taking some time for yourself every now and then, away from people, and just explore some part of town you've never been to or take a walk in a forest or something else that will give you some sense of distance.

I wish I fought in a major war, destroying everything and massacring a lot of people. Then on my long trek home, to die from tetanus, just a few metres away from home.

It's more of going on a one-man journey while meeting people along the way and having unforgettable experiences. It's boring to talk about when you haven't done it yet, but it won't be once you have that experience and get to share it. The solitude is less physical than mental in the sense that you are living for yourself and not for others.

They want us to live for others and constantly think about what others think of us. They want us to be their slaves and we are at the moment because we do everything they tell us to do. They start to get people on board and those who aren't become the losers. I know this sounds vague but it's the best way to convey the message.

Don't ever travel on your own though.
