Can Muslim Women Pray wearing trousers

Postby AbdiWahab252 » Mon Nov 11, 2013 12:07 pm

Something must be changing (bidcah) because I am seeing more instances of women praying with trousers/masjid. I have always seen women who wore trousers always wrapping a cloth to cover their legs and buttocks.

Yet at my local masjid, I see some women (mainly arab) wearing tight jeans and pants praying. The African american, African sister dress modestly and are okay. These jeans and pants are so tight that they accentuate their curves and make me have whiplash as I rush to lower my gaze. The nerve of the masjid management is to put up a sign, "Brothers, Lower your gaze."

Subaxanallah, I am about to find a new masjid. I hate spending my weekends being tempted in the one place I find solace, my masjid. Just the other day, I noticed my eyes stray during a conversation with a brother at the masjid. This 20 something Nuralcayn walked in and my eyes honed in on her.

Am I over blowing this out of proportion ? Am I being too 'conservative' ? Should I shop around for another mosque ?

JazakAllah,

Abdiwahab.

How can u see females praying with trousers. Is the masajid u go to non segregated?
To maybe answer ur question most girls have an abaya in their bag and probably.getchanged once salat begins.

Many mosques these days have prayer jilbabs that women can slip on before Salah. I like the tolerance shown to all sections of the Muslim community iin South East Asia women without hijab are welcomed into the mosques, women with short skirts etc etc. They just slip on these jilbabs which they carry in their handbags. Waa dad salaadooda xaafida MashaAllah

I see them before and after prayers. There is no curtain and the women pray behind the men.

Warsheekh,

I am developing a tuur abti !

Cherine,

MashAllah, but why wear booty hugging jeans, a tight top and a hijaab. I am only a man can't control my roaming eyes.

I can't speak for other islands or countries or in the mosque, but hijab and tight jeans are practically a uniform for muslim women on Luzon in the Philippines.

Adeer Hyper,

Both. Why come to a mosque dressed like that ? I know women can not wear revealing clothes when praying.

i agree women should wear according to sharia ( modest) even that could be arguable.

i look the law of the land. also, I'm against policing people, if i were you, i would lower my gaze and work on my imaan and pray to Allah to help me with the temptation. what women wearing in the masjid would be last thing i would worry. cause clearly, you need to work on your self.

Women Praying with trousers and ever tight jeans in mosques is normal in Egypt, at least that is the impression I had when I visited there. They only cover their heard when they are entering the mosque. Many mosques in Cairo have one door for both men and women to enter, some of them even use the same shelves for the shoes.

So the women are praying behind the men?..sounds like someone is putting in an effort to get hot and bothered... lower your gaze and don't turn around A/W

I used to see many girls in uni bring their prayer garb during prayer.... off it goes after prayer and get on with the day in their low rise jeans. i thought to myself, hey at least they maintain their prayer and cover themselves up during prayer...

but standing before God in your tight jeans is something else.. ignorance is bliss.. I hope.

Nasty. It is Nasty for a woman to pray in the Masjid like the men, it even Nasti-er for them to wear tight pants or jeans and pray at the same time. U can't reform Islam Law. The basic law of Women praying at home and covering themselves is the idea of preservation and respecting the female dom. Its not oppression, its not discrimination, it is Gods law. Lets respect it. Its like a man--choosing to stay at home and pray. Never praying in a Masjid with fellow men, its bizarre and unnatural. :eat:

You're overreacting and crossing a line. Their salat and/or dress is none of your concern. Had you been the COO of the masjid, perhaps.

Also, time better spent in a bar, me thinks.

Too far?

^ Get a life.

Women who wear tight jeans and Hijab have issues like with their brain.

I respect and trust a non-hijabi more than one that wears one with tight trousers make up etc. At least they're keeping it real.

Zulaika,

My shock is the with the laissez faire attitude of these temptresses. What are they trying to achieve by wearing tight jeans, tight tops and walking around the masjid. The management takes the cake with their lower your gaze poster.

If they wore their jalabiibs while in the mosque and took it off outside then it would be all gravy but to goad us men who are trying to be pious and causing us to do more wudu is mean spirited.

Alpha,

Fear your maker son !
