Maybe in Hairy Arab Lands but here in the West the mosques are barely fullnot truth, people getting more religious, and conservative, specially young people. who needs somali culture! our culture should aligned with shar'a islami.

Somali girls in 2014:
I highly doubt people "test the waters" to look out for their future kids, whatever that means. Moreso, not a good enough 'excuse' to do xyz. These kids are just testing the waters and seeing how deep it goes from their they will be able to help their kids in a way their parents who had no clue could never help them get balance.
Keymadow waaxidThe funny thing in this photo is , look at the reflection, who is taking the photos. A girl properly dressed in heavy hijab or gabarsar attire, while the 'thing' that's looks like an abgaal is posing with God knows WHAT THE HELL she is wearing.
Already, there are individuals here on Snet who support feminism, are OK with gays, hate the institution of marriage, openly question Islam, who try to find loopholes around Islam, are awed by cadaans and their accomplishments, etc. It's to be expected. Its clearly inevitable that a large proportion of Somalis born in the west will integrate to some level (unless secluded in a hole at home), they will be shaped by their environment and by the people. As a result they will sympathise or even support the prevailing views and practices in their country.
