Jabutí language

Jabutí is a nearly extinct Yabutian language that as of 1990 was spoken by only five people in Rondônia, Brazil, at the headwaters of the Rio Branco.

I don't know but I've heard it said it means Jab Buti
Buti is what Somalis call bears and apparently there once was a ship with bears on board on it's way to a zoo in Europe that ran aground in the area.Hence the Jab

Interesting. How do we even have a word for bears if there aren't any back home? Also, whats a ship full of bears doing off the coast of Somalia?

By the way the word madaxkuti is interesting. I have a theory that its a combination of madax=head and kuti=dog in South Asian languages.

buti is what dhag dheer was... The name likely has cafar roots though...
