Ramadaan kariim. Since you are an honorary Somali, why don’t you join and fast like us (even for a single day), and then share with us your experiences? Please feel free and welcome to try fasting a day or so, and see what it is like. You may do the whole daylight and you may not, but believe me, it's worth a shot.
Incase you take on board this suggestion; here are some stuff to avoid while fasting.
Lying, alcohol, backbiting, spreading rumors, false testimony, a lustful gaze, and no sex while fasting.
Make it a total Muslim (Somali) experience. Some pointers and steps that will help:
Eat before sunrise. Don't drink water or take food, and try to avoid things entering the body like medicine for food. If you are sick, don't fast, unless your doctor prescribes fasting to help get you better, fasting is actually used to cure some sicknesses. This is not just about hunger. So be forgiving, and make the intention to elevate the human spirit and conduct.
Check this site: These guys organize a campaign called the Ramadan Fast-a-thon, where non-Muslims would sign up to fast a day or days, with a sponsor, and the money collected goes to a local food bank or soup kitchen.

If you take the challenge, then Happy fasting sxb, and I will donate some money to your favorite children’s charity. But come back and share with us your experience.
