Latest attempt at fraud

Postby eliteSomali » Tue Jan 28, 2014 8:02 pm

So this guy tried to cheat me by bidding on an item that I was selling on ebay. Pretending to be paypal, this is what he sent me. The item was going for around 400 bucks and during the last minute he bided 141 dollars above everyone else. Then eh tells me he'll pay me extra for shipping.
This is to inform you that we received a payment of $581.00 USD from your buyer Mike James for an eBay item. Your funds is still PENDING with us as we wait to receive a copy of the Postage receipt or the Shipping Bar Code no of the Item given to you at the Post Office after the item has been dispatched. We give you 24-48hours to make the shipment of the item to the Buyer's address as we have forwarded all your details to our email verification center department so that you can get maximum attention from us.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PAYMENT WILL NOT APPEAR IN YOUR ACCOUNT UNTIL YOU SEND US A COPY OF THE POSTAGERECEIPT OR THE SHIPPING BAR CODE FOR VERIFICATION.

WHY SHIPPING DETAILS SHOULD BE SENT?
This is due to the new policies at PayPal to protect both the buyer and the seller in the face of the growing number of fraudulent activities perpetrated via the internet. Your payment is intact and you are encouraged to complete this transaction by shipping the eBay Item to your buyer's address confirmed below. Here at PayPal you can be assured that your security and safety is our topmost concern, Please email all the necessary postage details to our account/email verification department at PayPal(online-safety@in.com) for quick processing. Here is the shipping address of your buyer confirmed with us:
Then he sends me a message through ebay saying he made the payment. So I sent him this message:
Hi. Yes. I did send it. Here is the tracking number 9090993343. Pleasure doing business with you.
