The problem with the ummah today and with Somalis, is that even westerners such as James (not a diss) etc know our own history better than us, yet we know so little of theirs.
The tide has been in their favor for a long time.

James basically gave a synopsis of the first lecture. The Muslim downfall was self made. However Ataturk was hardly Muslim and was probably a agent of some sort.

the problem is not lack of knowledge of history but the fact some groups try to change Somali history to make their clan look better, unfortunately sayid barre tried this and look where it lead to the country

Warabaha is telling the truth, to move on is to learn and evaluate history. If history has been totally graffiti ed and ripped apart then the question is how will ppl ever learn? The answer is they don't know their history which is why somalia will never change from its current state.

The position of khalifa was moot by 1908 anyway.
The coup of the young turks (young kufaar) got rid of the last genuine muslim leader sultan Abdulhamid.
from 1909 till the abolition of the khalifate by ataturk the khalifa was a prisoner, a figure head with zero power or influence.
Attaturk just put the khalifate out of its misery, more like euthanasia really.

and he was an athiest or at least an agnostic, just the majority of the leadership of the Ottoman empire, especially the 3 pashas that rules as a triumvarate.

If you want to trace the decline of the muslim world or the Ottomans you need to go back a couple of centuries.

 Ok ok lets put Somali politics aside. I've got the uufo here. What i meant is that Muslims/Somalis are ignorant today, more so than non-Muslims. Sad. Look at James (1 man in a far away land : Van) hes created a site surveying Somali's most precious possession : our lineage/Qabil, yet i bet 9/10 Muslims etc couldn't tell me Queen Elizabeth's last time etc etc etc.
However thats nor here or there.

Basra, the vid highlights mostly how from the advent of 20th century the nails (near ww1) of the coffin of the caliphate were fixated.

Yeah Gurey is right.

Heres another recent BBC video of Rageh Omaar documenting the the rise and all of the Ottomans.

Star

And what "I" was highlighting is the fact that arabs or Muslims are "NON-FACTOR" in the world politic stage. Certainly 100 years ago.
