Personally, it is the Jalle Maxamed Siyaad Barre who is the man with the most impact.

Under his 21 year dictatorships, qabiil hatred was stoked to levels never seen before. The tools of the State were used to carry qabiil massacres. Siyaad trained and created the image of what a leader is to be and how a leader's qabiil will feast on government resources. He also trained and serves as GodFather to Warlords/Presidential Warlords.

He also killed the Democracy & Somali Culture which was the thing that kept our conflicts from rising to genocidal levels.
I agree with you Abdiwahab on this point.

Mohammed Siyaad Barre was also a nationalist in the early days of his scientific socialism system. Apart from everything wrong he had done, he is by far the most outspoken leader. That is why they called him Afweyne.

Adan Cabdule shouldn't be on the list. He has made no impact at all in Somali politics and most Somalis view him as a puppet who had put his self-interest above national interest, which is good in democratic standard but bad in nomadic segmentary standard.

Mohammed Cali Samatar had also an impact on Somalia's politics. He was the best trained general in the entire Africa. His strategic military plan in our war against Ethiopia was an outstanding success before Russia swtiched to Ethiopia for regional alliance. Siyad Bare felt invincible with this General beside him. He was the main causal factor of an external opposition because of his dangerous ability to command not only Somalia's forces but the entire Africa's army. The Soviets, who trained him, said he was capable of commanding the sophisticated Soviet army for days, so what would you expect of countries like Africa.

Sayid Mohammed Abdule Hassan, third.

$ Mohammed Farah Aideed-- He went for the impossible mission, which turned into his personal nightmare and probably the prophetic curse afflicted upon Mogadisho and its vicinities.

I can't beleive ppl are still voting for the camel raiding tribalist genocidal maniac aka Mad Mullah.

Man Afweyne did more in his first 5 yrs than that mad phucker for all his life i.e the Latin version of Somali which was introducd in Burao by the English only to have the Garxajis savages to demonstrate against the "infidel" letters.

MadDog
Gahayr is the man named after the somali national University, and yes he is the man who translated all school science books from grade 1 to form 4 from English to somali, a man who refused to be appointed minister and choose intead to teach in the university that he already set up single handedly.
The only Somali man who was treathen by siyaad to take the ministrial post or risk go jail, and choose the jail over the ministrial job.
If you are saying that the Isaaq dont have rapist, killers, gencidals,
Maniacs, sadists, you are whole heartedly right we dont produce such a wastefull pple to this beautiful world rather we make pple of hight clibre
such as Egal, Galal, Hadrawi.
To give a small living example the man called AxmedS!!laanyo was SNM leader for the most 6 defficult years of its history earned himself a tough leader and lost the leadership to A/Rahmaan Tuur furthermore he lost Somaliland election to Rayaale and remain oppostion leader to provide for the country a healthy balance democracy to persue the main and the common issue which is recognition.
What we dont have is that talent of yours of inheratence that even worlordsim become part of the family interprice, but in our case WE CREAT NATION BUT IN YOURS YOUR MAIN TALENT IS TO DISTOREY YOUR OWN HOME, SCHOOL, HOSPITAL,ROADS, POLICE STATIONS
Siyaad, Sayid, are your heros so is Hitler to Germany, Franco to Spain
Mugabi to Zimbabwe,Saddam to Iraq,Mangistu to Ethiopia.

Hey Qudhac, these guys are talking about "Somalia"(koonfur).

Don't bother arguing with them, its best to side with one Southerner to divide & conquer them rather than having their attension in our direction.

ViVa Siyad Barre, the lion of burbur. Anyman wanting to destroy a nation & country shall follow his examples.

Lol

Save the homily for the credulous. There are no rapist isaaqs? Come again? Qudhac, what planet do you live on? That is like saying there are no good americans. Something so patently, in-your-face holding you by the nose, self-evidently untrue. Social lepers come in all shapes and stripes. The clan strife engulfing southern somalia doesn't grant you the right to consider your clan inherently righteous, pure, unblemished and everyone else vermins.

Get real pal!

CrazySommies, my Gabdabuursi friend, relax. The whole vicitimhood cloak works for a while until when the S-land masses start asking questions like, "Why is life under S-land not bringing us the prosperity we were told ? Why are we suffering under a leadership which consists of Afweyne's stoogies ?"

But I won't knock u, as a minority u need to divide them Issaqs so as to survive. Its quite an accomplishment going from Siyaad's Honorary Marexan membership and enforcers to ruling the SNMers. When the Issaqs turn on you, please wave the white & blue flag to rescue u.

In the meantime, good luck.
