not even close. You got the 50 upgrade because you locked yourself into two year contract and I am pretty sure you will pay the 700 retail price in a monthly installment . Try to get away from them and see what happens. They will slap you with 350 termination fees all other fees. Ask them you want to buy the phone outright without contract and see how much it is

Actually I don't mind the two year contract because we were able to lower our monthly bill to $250 for five lines including discount given to employees of my place of employment.

i unlocked my iphone 5 couple months ago before i went africa, you can unlock it at indian shop for around 60 to 100 pounds, or you can unlock it for free or up to 10quid depending on your network provider, just give them a ring, you have to be on contract for over a month to do this, they will send u a text and u sync to itunes and its unlocked

edit; every iphone is registered to someone, only that person can call his network provider and unlock it, but if its barred in the uk nobody can unlock it, its stolen or the finance hasnt been repaid

Blackrain is right, apple products cant be breached unlike android devices unless you consider jailbreaking which can unsettle your phone seriously..in regards of your request, it is very possible to find uk barred latest smartphones for ridiculously low prices...

I know because not only are they on gumtree but if you go looking for those indian paki shops you will find that 4/5 have some serious phones hidden behind empty boxes, phones that are barred for around the 100 pounds..around the 175 dollars I am guessing. ..
