Britain believes Crimea is in a different category to the rest of Ukraine and could be afforded special treatment if Vladimir Putin abandons his "KGB mentality", according to Nick Clegg.
Vladimir Putin: "Who is this Nick Clegg?"
Memo to Vladimir:
At the first remove, there is Obama. At the second remove, there is Dave--you know, the other guy in the selfie at Mandela's funeral. At the third remove, there is Nick Clegg.
Third? that's a tad optimistic to say the least.
On Putin's radar Clegg is just about behind the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
Dmitry Medvedev: "He's the English politician who pledged to never introduce tuition fees and then went back on his word"
Vladimir Putin: "That is the lowest of the low. He sounds as bad as that annoying, all mouth and no trousers Foreign Secretary of theirs. What's his name?"
Dmitry Medvedev: "I can't remember either. Something to do with whisky I think. Johnnie Walker maybe."
