RIP old man although i never agreed on some of his Daarood inspired prospective on somali history, neverthless the man created whats known today as Somali Study departments, so he contributed more into soomaalinimo then most of the Kacaan Daaroods.

Nothing whatsoever,in fact he looted Somali manuscripts written in Arabic and brought them back to SOAS.

The most overlooked scholar of "Somali Studies" was Bogumił Witalis Andrzejewski.
He transcribed and translated thousands of poems and even helped create the Latin script for the Somali language.

I found Lewis' work a bit too "Anthropological" if you get my meaning :?

Can the manuscripts be accessed by the public?

Arabian;I would assume they are accessible to the public. But that's not the point. Those manuscripts belong the the Somali people. Not to his School or Britain..I once went to the library at SOAS.Man they have almost every publication from all corners of what they call the orient, for the last maybe 100 years to the present

And why are you crying ?

The winner takes the spoils, Muslims need to re-learn the value of conquering. Tis is the life.

No, the final script was developed by dozens of people. Andrzejewski helped as part of the team developing the official orthography (how words should be represented by the new Somali alphabet)
