The great Isaaq author Gabriel Garcia Marquez dies

Postby Sanbalolshe » Sat Apr 19, 2014 11:35 pm

Inaa lilaahi wa inaa ileyhi raajicuun! He was a great man and a good friend of mine. May he rest in janatu firdowsa insha'allah. On one evening when we were both just sitting around in a Cafe in Mexico City, just shooting the breeze, I even playfully asked him if I could plagiarise on his famouse sentence,. "Many years later, as he faced the firing squad, Col. Aureliano Buendía was to remember that distant afternoon when his father took him to discover ice..." Which to my surprise he answered, 'yes'. He had a concerned look on his faced as he said it too; ' What is wrong with you Sanbalolshe, you are a great man and a good friend, not to mention you are a prolific writer yourself, infact there is a good chance you might turn out to be better than both me and Tolstoy combined." What a great man!

I have since started my own novel aswell. "Many years later, as he faced the firing squad Dr. Abdi Farah Sanbalolshe was to remember that distant afternoon when his father took him to discover _______, ' tolow what do I fill in that empty space?.' I need a word as captivating as the word 'Ice', in the original sentence which also ryhmes with it, and will contribute to the musicality of my new sentence. So far I could only think of rice. And then may be followed by,.. " This took place in a makhayad in the midst of the once affluent xaafad of Huriwaa, which now reeked of nothing but death and distruction since the barbarically savage people known as 'Hawiye' took over. There was neither moos, nor liin dhanaan in sight as Abdi forcefully tried to eat the digusting rice, cooked Hawiye style in dirty containers rinsed with blood. About two or so meters to their right a tall skinny man wearing a worn shirt and a macawis that fell just below his ankles kept a watchful eye, AK47 in hand. He was shaking and looked somewhat scared even though he was the one with the gun.

Xaji Farah Sanbalolshe looked at his son with contempt as he struggled to swallow the rice. " Why are you being soft waryaa, eat the damn rice can't you see we are surrounded by primitve mooryaans who just discovered modern weapons? They think the f-king things are toys son, if we don't finish this they will spray us with bullets. We are Isaaq for god sakes show them what true warriors are made of, eat the bariis"." But aabo, perhaps if they gave us some orange chuice to wash it down with, or at least a piece of lime.." Xaji Farah Sanbalolshe lost his mind,' WARYAA SHUT UP AND EAT YOUR RICE' ba baac, as he slapped his son across the face. The mooryaan close by jumped backwards in fright, stepping on his macawis and landing flat on his ass, the AK flying to the side.

A short stocky black man with an oval shaped bald head and red eyes like Hannibal stepped out of the shaddows and stood over the mooryaan Abdiwahab 252 as he gathered himself, picking up his macawis and Ak47. But before he could properly stand the short fat man kicked him in the face, again forcing Abdiwahab 252 fall on his ass, forcefully taking the gun from him and aiming for his face. " Didn't I tell you to shoot these qaldaans if they didn't finish the rice in 5 mins?

Forty years later and this time Abdi Farah Sanbalolshe was facing a different kind of firing squad. This time they were properly dressed and equipped and looked more civil than the Hawiye mooryaans he faced as a child. They were also shorter and looked femenine. They claimed they were Puntland's elite commando units and accused him of engineering the anthrax that wipped out their entire government during the 60 days war between Somaliland and Puntland 3 months earlier. Abdi Said his parayers as he realised there was no getting out this one.""

I think this might sell if I expand it, what do you think   ?

Aisha I agree. Basra is also better at telling village stories than me, but sadly she has rotten sijui accent which ruins the whole flavour.

Hey Basra,

After greetings let me say you only ever wrote one funny story, the one about the village, after that you were no longer relevant. From then on your stories were predictable and boring, they mostly revolved around penis size due to either your excessive sexual frustration, or a series of disappointments in bed   .
