Jalle,

Will you please ask the oday if he remembers when the DC's office, the school and Said Ali's houses were torn down. The former were built by the Italians, but the later were built and owned by a Somali. The mayor's house is also missing.

Doctor,

I taught the 66-67 school year. I spent a week in Baraawe and a few days in Eyl on leave, and was returning to Mog from Eyl when I became ill and was evacuated. I had been in-country for 13 months.

Kukri,

Glad you like the pics.

Your cuqdad for the generalized "White" man is well known, so I don't make a lot of you thinking of me as a "shady" character. However, I think you will find that most of the shady characters around here come supplied with multiniks, like Jalaaludin, Ms Mamglano, 932 and Biko. Please note again that I only have the one nik and feel everyone else should have the same limit. One person, one vote!

Is that a subtle way of calling me a racist?

I have not been able to return. Mail stopped in late 1969. I was only able to begin re-connecting with Somalia when I joined Snet in 2005. Since then, the Jilib area has not been safe for white American Gaal types.

Thank you for the food offer, but Columbus is not a likely destination.
