Actually that would be Women's Liberation.

The way things used to be: Women forced to marry men for financial reasons or arranged marriages. Many of these women either hate their husbands, would rather be with someone else, and in some cases, are lesbians.
The way things are now: Women can find their own work and support themselves, and don't need to be married to a guy they dislike to survive, can be with men (or women) that they choose, rather than someone else chose for them.

Result: Divorce.

About 30 years ago this threw western society into chaos, and Asia about 15 years ago. Africa and the Arab world just took a bit longer to get there I guess.

If this parallels the west in other ways, in 15 years there will be another wave of divorces as guys jump on the divorce bandwagon when Men's Liberation happens (men follow women's lead and divorce women they don't want to be with either) which will basically destroy marriage as an institution rather than a facebook status, and pave the way for, in 30 years, gay marriage and non-marriage of the modern west.
