oh it happens a lot in pakistan/india/afghanistan which is a cultural thingThis newspaper is racist .. they sensationalise a lot of stories. Nobody can be that evil and kill someone like that for those petty reasons.
One thing I have noticed about this cartoonish character above, is his peculiar and macabre fetish for gruesome and extreme incidents involving Muslims. He didn't post this shocking and horrific story out of some deep felt compassion and empathy towards the poor victim or to educate 'us primitive" Muslims but rather to denigrate and to smear Islam by equating the actions of few villagers with a 5th of the world's population. Peasant Atheists like this AbdiJohnson person offend me on multiple levels, not because their disbelief, but because of their empty thoughtless platitudes, their skewed abstract school boy notions and their borrowed binary view of the world (good and evil).All they do is rehash and stitch together the same vitriolic attacks from a weird motley crew collection of islamophobic groups, as diverse as white supremacists, Christian extremists, Jew extremists and radical atheists. In most cases those people see the likes abdijohnson and his kind just as primitive and as sub human as the Muslims. Abdi if you are going to be an atheist, start by thinking for yourself and liberate your mind, don't let Sam Harris think for you. Stop trying to ingrain yourself into a world you don't belong, it is pathetic and embarrassing. Sidaasi ilbax ma aha. Nothing in this world is black and white. Not all of Pakistan is "barbaric", not all muslims are ignorant, not all westerners are angelic and all atheists are not smart. The world is full of evil people doing evil deeds and people are committing murder, rape and mutilation every minute of hour in every corner of the world. The common denominator between all great religions and belief systems is the believe that at the end of the day we're all responsible for our own individual actions. I was Desi bashing and targeting South Asian culture. I clearly mentioned the "caste" in my post. There's no caste system in Islam so I dont know how you can link this story to Islam. If you automatically link a pregnant woman being stoned by 20 family members to Islam, then dont come crying to me. Its you who thinks this way.
