I think Somalis will forever be against immigrants, and Ethiopians in particular, especially when they are the imaginary evil who threaten to take jobs and funnel 'hard earned' Somali money out of here. lol.

I'd like to know why Somalis are so against immigrants. What are they so afraid of? We need a diversified workforce, we need people who are actually here to work, not free-load off relatives overseas and not give a shit unless their qat and cokes are paid for.

I'd hire a Ethiopian house worker AND staff in my office any day over a Somali because I know I can depend on their hard work. And I know they won't be mirqaan during the afternoon hours, if they are working at all.

We need to get over this paranoia and mistrust. They do not pose any danger, or are they just a scape-goat for troubles that we can actually rectify? If I remember correctly, it was Somalis creating those mini-bombs and random gun-shots two weeks ago in Hargeisa. They're not involved in this bullshit clan fighting that starts up again every 3 months in a different city. Nor any of the other issues actually affecting us.

Illegal immigrants are a huge problem, hiv rates increasing, crime, foreign cultures as well as basic hygiene levels. We take hygiene very seriously but our neighbors don't.

Ethiopians need to be returned homeand immigration needs to be cobtrolled, they are causing many problems and Somaliland is poor & underdeveloped and cannot afford to host them. They lead to increased criminality, alcoholism, prostitution, muggings, thefts, rape as there are thousands of Ethiopians trying to make/steal in any and every way possible money to get to Yemen/Saudi. They are placing pressure on meagre school and hospital facilities. They are bringing a foreign language, culture & religion into our land. We need to train, encourage and incentivise our young people to go into thosebjobs but they are being undercut by Ethiopians who are desperate to get to Saudi/Yemen and who accept any payment they are offered.

It is sad that 1000's of Oromos and Amharas are fleeing and leaving the Oromia & Amhara states because they are being oppressed in their own lands by Tigray & TPLF. Oromia and Amhara, nations of 40m and 30m people with a rich culture, language and history and with the most fertile resource-abundant land have been reduced to 3rd class citizens in their own land, left without political power, basic freedoms or democratic processes.

There are also some petty traders & small business owners, especially in Hargeisa, which has an appeal of its own. Lets not forget that Ethiopia doesnt have many large cities - there is only Addis - and after Addis and Mogadishu, Hargeisa is the largest city in the region. Unlike Ethiopia which is a very autocratic country where beaucracy, government interference and communist-era policies stifle free trade, enterprise and entrepreneurship, Hargeisa is a free market, low tax economy that represents a large market. In Hargeisa there are opportunities abound and even the petty trader or labourer will make a living.

The Amhara bring value to the city. Most of them are qualified professionals who handle the cities electricity grid, mechanics and university lecturers (such as Admas, Hope, Alpha, Lucy etc). All the billboards are installed by them too while Kenyans manage the print side of things.

The Tigrais are mostly diplomats and businessmen. The Adaris are great religious scholars and fluent Arabic speakers.

In short, Saleban Vatican is no more resident than the son from Harar after all before Hargeisa became Hargeisa it was called Harar.

And personally speaking, I feel more comfortable in Gojjam amongst the Amhara (very down to earth people) than Burco or Galkacayo where daily Habro cowboy shootout is common.

Well they already took HAWD from us with so many human resources like u lool. they took diredawa from our DIR brothers and they can take hargeisa too if we dont do something about it. xabashi is xabashi we dont care about their differences they are all ethiopians. they took so many jobs from real somalilanders.

there was time only gabooye owned all barbers today ethiopians are taking all over. there was time somalilanders used to call their jobless relatives to work for them in any field. e.g constructions, farming, hotels, housekeeping. cleaning etc. today no one calls for jobless relatives.

every body employs ethiopians because they believe ethiopians are hardworking. even big companies and education institutes take cheap professionals from ethiopia instead of employing professional somalilanders. we cant afford to loose all those opportunities.
