The Israeli military says two more Israeli servicemen have been killed during clashes with Palestinian resistance fighters in and around the besieged Palestinian enclave of Gaza Strip.

On Saturday, Staff Sergeant Bania Roval was shot dead by a Palestinian fighter in Gaza, who emerged from a tunnel shaft and opened fire at Israeli soldiers.

The second soldier, 2nd-Lt. Bar Rahav from Ramat Yishai, from the Engineering Corps, was killed as a result of the activation of the Trophy missile defense system in a nearby tank.

Earlier on Saturday, two Israeli soldiers were killed and four more wounded when Gazan resistance fighters opened fire on them.

The Israeli military says the latest deaths bring to seven the total death toll. However, Hamas has told Press TV that Palestinian resistance fighters have killed dozens of Israeli troops in separate clashes, and have also seized weapons from them.

Meanwhile, more retaliatory rockets have been fired out of the Gaza Strip deep into Israeli cities including Tel Aviv, Ashdod, Eshkol, and Ashkelon.

Over 1,700 projectiles have been launched from Gaza in less than two weeks. Hamas says it is ready for a prolonged conflict and is continuously stocking up its weapons.

On Thursday, thousands of Israeli troops backed by tanks launched amphibious, air and ground incursions into the narrow Gaza Strip.

Hamas has vowed that Tel Aviv will “pay a high price” for its “foolish” actions.

A total of 357 people have been killed by the Israeli regime in its recent war on Gaza and nearly 2,700 have been wounded.

On Saturday, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) expressed “deep concern” over the death of children killed in the Israeli offensives against Gaza.
