Hi guys, I have a dilemma in which i need your your help.
I just found out that my Korean friend cuts herself. The other day she was showing me her new watch when I saw her wrists full of these tiny little scars like tiny razor blade cuts, I think she uses the sakiin to cut her arms and god knows were else, I was shocked and didn’t' say anything. Should I say something, what I should do? I mean I don't want to hang out with someone who mutilates herself. I think she is just going to far with the death metal thing , I mean I like cradle of filth as well, but this is just 2 extreme.

She sounds Borderline. Is she in therapy? If not, she needs to be. It's very common for people with borderline personality disorder to self-injure (cutting they call it). It's just a way of dealing with pain and depression.

Just encourage her to seek therapy.

no she is not, well not that i know of, she was fine before, i don't know what is going on, but she is getting to much into the whole death metal thing, do you think maybe that has something to do with it?

She is a second generation American, so I don't think that they eat dogs or cats...

Surria--Of course not. Self-Injury is not something you just pick up after discovering a new type of music. People who cut are experiencing severe emotional pain that's so hard to deal with only cutting brings some relief. She may look happy or at least normal around, but belief me she is in pain. Imagine gaining relief from cutting your own body. More than 80% of people with borderline cut and i think she might be one of them.

How's she in relationships?

The best thing to do is aware her parents/guardians what she's doing to herself, They'll know what treatment method to undergo about their daughter's botheration, But if you still keep this hidden it can only lead to suicidal outlets.

Hmm...i guess maybe her parents are a bit tough, but whatever it is, i guess i should say something, because i don't want to have someone i know become a statistic.

Oh, and about her relationship i'm not really sure about that, i know she dates white guys, although her parents don't approve of it. Her family is very traditional.

Surria--Just be her friend and make her see she needs help. Go to the first appointment even, if it's ok with her.

I asked about her relationships because borderline usually have stormy relatiosnhis with every1, parents, friends and mates.
