the term 'boon' means that these particular ppl have not evolved into human beings yet.

evolution process may take an extra 10,000yrs for these ppl.

Boon actually means those who make their livelihood off of ugaarso, but somalis those that do that as midgo.

As for boon marexaan, they were a group of boon that were under marexaan protection for the exchange of services and menial labor.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aweer_people

An almost extinct Cushitic people who lived of hunter gathererism in Jubbaland. Its said before the cushitics came to Somalia, hunter gatherers lived in the southern part of Somalia (4000 years ago). They were pushed south by the more technology advanced cushitics a very long time ago. Some like the Booni adapted and remained though. Here is an extract from British reports on 1915 about the Boni and how they used to live in the Bushes but were defeated by the treacherous & illegal Jareers who were brought to Somalia in the last 150 years. http://waamonews.com/wp-content/uploads ... itants.pdf
The Wa-Gosha are a confederacy of several tribes bound together for mutual protection against the Somali. The most important of the tribes are Wa-Zugoa, Yao, Wa-Swaheli, Wa-Gendu, and Mushunguli. All these tribes consist of fugitive slaves from the Somali, and they have taken refuge from their masters in the thick bush on the river-bank. Here at first they lived among the Boni tribe, to whom they gave presents as a kind of tribute. When the Wa-Gosha became more in number this tribute was refused and a fight ensued, in which the Boni were beaten and their chief killed. The Wa-Gosha then settled down, in spite of constant warfare with the Somali. This district under English supervision has an increasing population of agricultural people. They are Mohammedans. They do not attempt to keep any stock except a few goats; this is owing to the large number of tsetse fly in the bush around the swamps which are formed when the river rises in flood
If only it was possible to test the remaining Aweer people to see if they carry any significant hunter gatherer associated (San/Sandawe-like) ancestry. They use to live in the jungles of the Jubba where nomads didn't enter but obviously the Jareer comers came and now replaced them. This is why Jareers should be kicked out of Somalia.

Chinaman, how do you want to get rid of them? Settle all the nomads near the rivers ( to start farm land competition) and make them to farmers so as to produce more population? What is your plan? Should the jareer in Puntland also be deported and where to deport?

waraabw, There's also a town called Boon in Somaliland did you know that?
