
Mogadishu (RBC) A day after famous Somali Member of Parliament Sheikh Aden Mohamed Madeer was shot dead in Mogadishu, the capital city has seen heavy security operation on Saturday.
Early morning on Saturday, security forces were deployed to the roads of the city blocking the access of cars and people from the main roads.
The roads blocked included the key roads of Maka al Mukarama, Sayidka, KM4 junction, Zoppe and the Airport Road.
Meanwhile security forces aided by AMISOM police launched search operation in parts of Wadajir and Waberi district in the capital. It is not yet known if the security forces arrested some people during the Saturday operation.
The security operation started as senior government officials attended the funeral service of the late slain MP Sheikh Aden Madeer in Mogadishu’s.
The militant group Al Shabab has claimed credit of the killing of late MP Sheikh Aden Madeer. The group also assassinated four other other MPs in Mogadishu this year.
