Do you ever get sad thinking about how horrible Somalia is??

Postby Halima94 » Tue Aug 05, 2014 10:55 pm

This weekend, I randomly typed Siad Barre on Youtube, and as I was watching an interview of him for the first time, tears started to run down my face. I was so surprised, because I don't have any feelings or any love towards my motherland, Somaliland and even Somalia, Putland, etc. I know Barre is major reason why Greater Somalia is an epic disaster today, but it was so nice to see that Somalia once had a strong leader that lead the entire country and that we had a great past. It makes me sad that I'll never see a civilized and prosperous Somalia in my life time...if that'll ever happen anyway, which I highly doubt. Just like how Israel and Palestine will be in conflict till the end of times, Greater Somalia will suffer till the end of times too. I get so jealous of people who have a real motherland, a place where they can call home with pride... I get so jealous of Ethiopians, Eritreans, Kenyans, Indians, Pakistanis, Argentinians, Brazilians, South Africans, Nigerians, Gulf Arabs, Algerians, Tunisians, etc etc because they have real countries, civilized, peaceful and beautiful infrastructure. They're always so proud of their countries. I always wonder what that feels like to have a home country that you can be proud of. I wish so bad that I can feel that national pride...like carrying my countries flag, saying proudly that I am Somali. And just feeling proud about my country...but what's there to proud about Somalia? ...we have absolutely nothing. We are jokes to world. The forgotten nation. Somalis are one of the most hated ethnicities in the whole world!!! Everybody hates Somalis. I have absolutely no pride in Greater Somalia being my home, I am ashamed to be Somali, and if I had the opportunity to change ethnicity I would in a heart beat wallahi. That's why I feel bad for Syrians, because their country is being destroyed...though I know for certain that Syria will return to greatness, unlike Somalia, because Syrians are smart..and the Arab world and the West will help them rebuild their country. Somalia is finished.

Ofcourse why not? as long as she has the qualities I like , then I'll have no problem marrying a muslim woman.

unlike my muslim parents. I'm gonna raise them without a religion and they can find whatever they want to be when they grow up. muslim or not

Somaliweyn will be a reality sister. Look Somalis problem is the UN and their funding. Also in 91 if the "caring" Americans had not joined to stop the advancement of Aiddiid (aun) there would have been one clear winner and everyone would be forced to recognize his rule. As a result today you have little fiefdoms who are not stronger then their neighbor but then their neighbor is not stronger than them. It's a total stalemate.

Halimo look at it like this. No nation/people will always be downtrodden till judgment day. Allah will give us defeat and see how we handle it and allah will give us victory and all good that comes with (nation, pride, government, services, military might) and he will see how will handle this.
