No offence but to compare Park Chung Hee's visionary leadership to Siad barre's clan mafia rule is preposterous. By the death of PCH, he had steered his nation out of abject poverty, and SK was well on it's way to being an economic powerhouse. By Siad Barre's end, Somalia had recently lost a devestation war and was a broken, Aid-dependant and disunited nation with very little infrastructure, social and physical. PCH was a brutal dictator who built highways, steel and car manufacturing plants and skickstarted it's industrial revolution. Meanwhile Afweyne, through sheer political and military incompetence looted his country's resources, launched a poorly planned and ill-advised war against the Soviet world, turned it from a self-sufficient nation to one depending on international AID life-support and targetted the educated and business classes to the point of Civil War.
Please don't compare them.
