Ahmed Abdi Godane's -- former Al-Shabab leader and terrorist -- death ushers in a fresh beginning for the shockingly devastated and traumatized nation of Somalia. Al-shabab leadership (what is left of) is discombobulated and on the run in Barawe, a coastal town in Somalia, their last meaningful stronghold. It is a matter of time before it also succumbs to the coalition forces.

Who are the losers?

Somaliland lost not only a tribal member, but lost an individual they could tacitly count on ensuring peace and stability never came to southern Somalia -- that card is no longer on the table. There were allegations -- though never refuted by Somaliland -- Dahabshil, Godane and Siilanyo worked for the destabilization of Mogadishu to enhance the hastily conceived separatist enclave of Somaliland's chances of independence. His killing deals a death blow to their aspiration, according to experts in the region.

What does Somalia look forward to in the next 10 years?

You can sum up in two words: immense potential. Focus will be in social and economic developments of all regions and rehabilitation and reeducation of Al-Shabab foot soldiers away from their rigid and misplaced ideology. Foreign direct investment by companies and countries in Somalia's natural and mineral resources and reintegration into the world's financial markets and governmental bodies.

The suffering and chaos in Somalia affects all Somalis in a negative way. It affects the whole world. That’s probably why the West and AMISON keep interfering.

Al-Shabab is a threat to Somaliland, no relationship exists between the two organisation and anyone who says otherwise is ulterior motives.

Are you serious only in your mind is Somaliland disconnected from Somalia but since early 2006 a lot of Somalilanders mainly isaaq have come down to join the ICU and Alshabaab. Remember that these organizations are ideologically driven primarily and qabiil secondarily, hence their success. Besides the were other high ranking member isaaqs like ibraahim al afghaani but he got killed by godane
