Pan Somalism still exists..

Postby Xildiiid » Fri Sep 26, 2014 4:25 pm

I was browsing YouTube and somehow I came across this video.

This brother is a true pan Somalist not like the fake brand who come on here.

I believe he read Revolutionary Suicide by Huey P. Newton and Soul On Ice by Eldridge Cleaver, the main themes in his speech revolves around group consciousness (Knowledge of Self), organizing his community i.e the Somali diaspora and the ideas are quite similar to what the Black Panther Party was striving for.

You can tell he's sincere and that he's hurt by the suffering of his people, @ 27:55

They say every idealist is a cynic in the making, no matter what, I wish this dude the best.

Wuu dadaaleyaa.

Real pan Somalism people are very rare in Somalia , you can find them in NFD though who genuinely care about Somali no matter what region republic. In the late 1950s real pan Somalism you could find them in Somaliland.

Pan-Somalism is a great thing but I don't think most Somalis appreciate it or even understand the benefits of it. Somaliweyn is often used by Somalis to cover up their tribal agendas.

I would've supported this ideology but unfortunately Somalis are idiots. That's why I am a staunch Somalilander. Until Somalis get their act together Pan-Somalism or 'Somaliweyn' will never be taken seriously.

It's a cancer when it's not an honest cause and 9 time out of 10 people who advocate for it are not sincere. When you deal with insincere people, bad things are bound to happen. The situation between Somaliland and Somalia is a perfect example.

This brother seems like a sincere dude, I don't agree with everything he said, there might be better strategies but atleast he's not fake like the ones who come in here oo sida yaxaaska isaga oohineya. :pac:

Exacty. Somalilanders were sincere and sacrificed a lot for the greater good of Somalis. However they were betrayed by their fellow Somalis and were persecuted because of tribalism. Pan-Somalism cannot work with Somalis because of their ignorance, narrow-minded mentalities and their hard core tribalism which forms the fabric of their society. All in all, Pan-Somalism is incompatible with Somalis.

Pan Somalism would be a great thing if there was Somali solidarity, but Somalis are each others worse enemies more enemies to each other than Kenyans and Ethiopians. Somalis killed each other more raped plagued destroyed and annihilated the enemy tribe. Than Kenya and Ethiopia. Kenya and Ethiopia are just used as scare tactics. Walanweyn Chauvanism ,Darood Nationalism and' Somaliland nationalism can never co exist , some one has to lose. :D

I am very against greater Somalia the violent intolerant expansionism dream with the name greater Somalia. i am glad Somaliand Ethiopia and Kenya Djibouti put that cancerous dream to an end. But a Somali union on equality social understanding and based on solidarity, i might consider, because its based on equality and not conquering each other.

I could care less about Somalia or any other place for that matter. I was just surprised to see someone who's not using the Somaliweyn card for a clan agenda like many Somalis do (including your own president) and I wish him the best even though every idealist is a cynic in the making.

GIJamaac I'm not going to insult you or your clan or your country but the next reply won't be civilized so see yourself out of this thread.

Runtii Somalis could rule the world if they worked together without trying to get a one-up on their brothers. That's what the Somalis prior to independence believed and wanted in a Somali nation. The current Somaliweyn rhetoric we hear today is just a mask for people who want the good 'ol Kacaan days back where power is concentrated within a small group of people. Until we can trust one another and see beyond clan/regional lines, the "1 nation, 1 people" line is a useless argument to use.

Another point is that Somalis can still exert power and influence among its neighbours without being confined to just one country. A nation doesn't begin nor end between arbitrary lines.

The guy has a vision but he is thinking to early this might happen in 200 years time since Somalis are generally slow and dont understand what is at stake.

Somali economic order is not to bad

But u need to solve the political issue equal union like European Union can be done . But we dont see the French trying to dominate the dutch and trying to invade the Germans. It can be done but in 200 years but first we must respect each other but that wont happen we are to proud. The guy has good ideas but Somalis are to stubborn.
