Somalia/land is a very strict religious country?

Postby technogc » Tue Sep 30, 2014 7:26 am

Out of the Arab nations. When i went there, every single woman was wearing a hijab, unlike morroco, tunisia etc. or is this because they are forced?

Somalia is a member of the Arab world, because Arabic is one of its official languages and part of the Arab league, is it not?

i have never in my life heard a somali refer to somalia as part of the arab world.

Somalia became part of the arab league as a political move by Siad Barre back in the 70s. He wanted to position Somalia rather than Sudan as the bridge from the arab world to africa. That way he would get more influence on global matters. Arabic became an official language as a bone to the arabs after picking latin script rather than arabic for the written somali language. Not many native somalis know arabic even though its a "official" langauge.

And above all Somalis are proud people. We want absolutely no association with the disgusting hairy animals known as daag caas aka carab.

Somalis trace their lineage to Arab. Somalis have no confidence in their kushitic race. They deny their cushitic ancesors and claim bougus Arab ancesors. Look how every Somali tribe has a fabricated history relating them to Arab ancesors.
