I don't agree the way she goes about it or her analogies but happiness is indeed your responsibilities. It's something you go get it. You can define happiness yourself just like your own dream and work towards achieving it.
Happiness maybe a holiday, having a partner, family, new country, new life, new lifestyle or faith. All of them require your commitment and commitment requires your responsibility.
Even for eternal happiness you have to work towards to appease your Higher Creator and live life according to His Laws.

It is our responsibility. No one can crawl inside you and make you happy. I define happiness as a mellow and peaceful state. If you can be alone for a while and still be peaceful and happy then you are happy. If not, then you are not
There is difference between excitement(spending time with friends, eating food, etc) and happiness.
