Geo,
The bugger bought the notion that peace was back in Xamar. He wanted to be the first thirst quencher.

Back to the topic. My assumption is that the cargo was meant for NGOs, AMISON and a few bottles for the natives. You cannot ban vice. I would have let the cargo in. A few people who drink is not the major problem we have in Somalia. In fact, I blv that banning alcohol, drugs, prostitution etc will only lead to scarcity=price increase=crime.

Most likely meant for the NGOS and I agree, banning vice is near futile but prostitution? It's a manifestation of social decadence.

You cannot ban prostitution. It is the oldest profession in the world. It is not due to "social decadence". The underlying reason is almost always poverty and material wants. But as long as consumption is the norm, prostitution will be around. You cannot ban it. It is like drugs.

^ everyone says that, oldest profession in the world. Wrong. Oldest profession is teaching. Every society has teachers/trainers or some sort. Research it sxb

LoveAlways: I may have understood it wrong, but I thought you weren't gonna clear it? What's it doing in Muqdisho?

Yummy

There is no doubting hookers have been around longer than books. Where there is demand there is supply. Before human beings learnt to articulate their thoughts into written symbols, they were bartering for sex. Women always had a commodity that was in demand, their bodies.

teaching and learning isn't constrained to books. Teaching how to hunt, farm, start fire, etc.

Prohibiting it will substantially lower the likelihood of a senile foreigner flying to Somalia with the sole mission of sampling the young and vulnerable. I've seen first hand what happens in South East Asia

Shirib, but we are talking a profession, an exchange of services. Not teaching for the sake of living.
